great blogs about life in Asia and/or Asian culture

Thai traditional desserts!

You know that feeling of discovering a great new blog and losing hours of your time as you read through all the archives in one go? Here are some great blogs about life in Asia or Asian culture that gave me that feeling!

Green-eyed Geisha: I love this blog because there’s lots of funny stories about working in a Japanese corporation, the Sound Princess, shoes destroyed by the Japanese pavement, host clubs, and expat paranoia. What makes it awesome is just GEG’s voice and personality, very funny and interesting.

Julie in Japan is an ESL teacher in Japan who really loves Japan and Japanese culture. It has lots of useful and interesting information about life there, and interesting stories like Japan has a desert with camels (!), and some parents complained that playing Hangman in English class encouraged suicide (wut?)

Ask A Korean: I’ve mentioned this blog before, but it bears mentioning again! This dude answers all kind of questions about Korea, like do Korean people eat dogs (yes), why do Korean women get so much plastic surgery, and how do I land a Korean man (the same way as any other man) in funny, sarcastic, yet trying hard to be impartial manner.

What’s your favorite blog about life in Asia?

    Too many to list.

But right now hands down it is Eating Asia.

For good reason. Both Robyn and David are amazing and together they are the best.
