chicky net

One thing that always impresses me is the awesomeness of expat women I meet in Thailand. It takes a strong character to live here as a woman, and I really enjoy meeting all the cool, adventurous, interesting women that make Asia their home.

There’s a new social network for female expats in Thailand, called Chicky Net, that looks pretty interesting, they have lots of meetups and featured blogs and stuff.

    Hey Julie
I couldn’t agree more!!! Western girls & women in Thailand, whether the anonymous lady in the street who gives you the most sincere and supportive smile of understanding………… or your neighbour farang who quickly becomes your most trusted friend to rely on…. or your farang girlfriend, with whom you can share your doubts and fears about living in Thailand without being shamed and ridiculed.

Farang women have been my lifeline all this time: over 5 years in Thailand, more than 2 in Cambodia. So now, this young woman is going West šŸ˜‰

    Hi May,

I definitely agree! I’ve met so many awesome female expats here in Thailand, I can’t even begin to name them all!

Where West are you headed? Are you going back home? -J

    Hi Julie–

This is a wonderful place to come–your writing, your photos, your music is all nourishing and restorative! Thank you for this and for your kind words about the CKM piece that I wrote.
Maybe we’ll find each other in BKK some day–
    Keep writing,
    Janet Brown
