genius

Yeah, moving to Thailand, what a genius move.

Now there’s ARMED CONFLICT 3 skytrain stations away from my building. W. T. F.

DO NOT COME TO BANGKOK, I repeat, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM BANGKOK.

The entire center of the city is taken over by terrorists. What used to be the shining malls where you could buy Chanel and drink Starbucks coffee in air-conditioned splendor are now closed — the streets underneath taken over by medieval forts made out of sharpened bamboo sticks and tires, people sleeping on sidewalks among the smell of piss and garbage everywhere — it’s like a videogame where the local village has been invaded by zombies.

At the moment the terrorists/protesters are fighting the army, the army is (supposedly) fighting the army, the BTS/MRT are closed, giant traffic jams, and everything is pretty fucked.

Don’t think I’m in real danger yet, but watching things closely. If you see me drinking coffee on St-Laurent in Montreal next week, you’ll know why.

Bangkok WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

I hope you’re registered with the embassy or consulate so they know to rescue you if things go from bad to worse! Take care!

Man, aside from the bamboo sounds a little like Quebec city after a particularly ugly St. Jean de Babtiste day, or perhaps the aftermath of the Canadiens losing a game or something.

We miss you here in Canuckistan, but hope fate dosent force your hand. Stay safe.
